...thoroughly Practically no one was sick, I didn't miss a meal or lose one, they were too good.

I'm continually talking of eats, suppose you have put that down as my worst sin, I talk of it so much, and goodness knows when home you tickled my palate all the time with your dainty dishes.

I don't know whether I ever told you, you had qualified as an excellent cook. I've admired you in so many other ways that you are no doubt as conceited as can be but...

...for fear I haven't told you before, my idea of a real meal is anything you prepare.

I had a wonderful stateroom on the way across, and Mackey, O'Donnell, Miller & I had one side of the stateroom and cabin to ourselves, with plenty of British running at our beck and call. They surely are excellent servants.

Don't get the "Wind Up" though for I don't expect to be waited on when I return.

The meeting at Division Hgrs. for today is again postponed and will be held tomorrow.

Suppose the new generals car broke down, and he could not get here in time for today.

I owe Louise several letters and must write Marie Neiss also. I owe Jacob a letter also.

I understand some of our Engineers (28 Div.) are going to Saucous(?) today. This sounds good to me.

Did you think the letter written on a note book leaf, was interesting. It...

...shows plainly how we felt there and do now to the Germans, and always will.

The dirty hounds I can never forget how they treated the British soldiers, it was awful.

After dinner I'm going to get stuck - I understand they poke it in under the ribs in the right front. Some of the fellows feel pretty sore.

My shoulder is OK now, was mighty sore for a week, no more football for this guy.
